Nature as sensual and haptical surface in design

Many of the currently designed products are based on geometric shapes. Common design standards are repeatedly taken up and monotonize the variety of products.

Incorporating nature into the design of products can help to break with common design conventions. The natural elements were abstracted and transformed by slip casting them in porcelain. They serve as a sensual, haptic and functional interface between humans and objects. By modifying conventional archetypes, the user has to deal with the object more intensively, which again enhances the relationship between object and user.
